Your mandate
Support First Nations climate leadership through a new funding initiative for community-based climate change projects.
Main responsibilities
- Carry out the deployment of a new climate change initiative for First Nations in Quebec
- Support the First Nations communities who are willing to implement climate change projects, in terms of project design, implementation and monitoring
- Coordinate a First Nations climate change committee
- Maintain collaboration with First Nations, governments and other organizations involved in the initiative
- Follow up agreements, budgets and activities related to the initiative
- Write activity reports, funding requests and other
- Carry out various punctual or special mandates related to the projects
Do you have the profile?
- Combination of academic or professional experience in climate change or a related field, such as environmental sciences, geography, political science, biology, community development, etc.
- Organizational, writing and interpersonal skills
- Availability to travel occasionally throughout Quebec and to First Nations communities
- Excellent communication skills in French and English, both written and spoken
- Experience in project or program management (an asset)
- Relevant experience working with First Nations or in an Indigenous organization (an asset)
- Knowledge of an Indigenous language (an asset)
