A workshop on the new federal impact assessment system and the Impact Assessment Agency of Canada’s (the Agency) methodological approach to assessing impacts on rights was held on December 3 and 4, 2019.
The purpose of this meeting was to present the new impact assessment system to First Nations representatives and to gather their comments and questions regarding First Nations’ participation in the impact assessment.
On December 4th, the Agency’s Quebec Regional Office presented a methodological approach to the First Nations. The meeting provided an opportunity to present the tools related to the methodological approach, to apply them to a concrete situation and to initiate a discussion allowing the participants to share their thoughts.
