The FNQLSDI held a workshop entitled Consultations “Territory and Natural Resources” and Modernization of the National Energy Board on March 27 and 28, 2017 in Montreal, prior to the Indigenous Engagement Session organized by the National Energy Board Modernization Expert Panel on March 29, 2017.

The following topics were discussed during the workshop:

• Follow-up and discussions on the issues concerning territory and resources submitted for consultation
• Exchange on experienced consultation issues
• Legal issues of Duty to consult
• Information on NEB processes and presentations of issues raised by First Nations
• Identification of common issues and development of a strategy related to the NEB modernization
